For cleaning parking garages, pressure washers are often used. Cleaning parking lot floors with a pressure washer in Panama is highly effective and helps create a more pleasant space.
Typically, there isn’t enough sludge buildup to prevent us from cleaning the floor using pressure washers, squeegees, and shovels. However, there are certain cleaning operations in parking garages that are large enough or filthy enough to warrant the use of a fire hose.
Fire hydrant use
When there is a significant amount of land to cover in a short period of time or when there has been a significant accumulation of dirt, silt, and debris, using a fire hydrant, hose, and nozzle for parking garage cleaning is quite effective.
A fire hydrant can move more sludge than a pressure washer because it emits a significantly larger volume of water. The nozzle on a fire hydrant permits 150–300 gallons per minute, but most pressure washers utilise 4-6 gallons per minute. The trade-off is that pressure washer use is more detailed than utilising a fire hydrant. Occasionally, lines and missing spaces will appear in the concrete.
Decide on the level of parking garage cleaning you want.
A high-pressure rinse with a pressure washer would typically enough if you frequently clean your parking garage and there aren’t many stains. However, a lot of our customers prefer a thorough cleaning to satisfy everyone.
A rinse is the initial stage of cleaning a parking garage.
Similar to what you’d get by utilising a fire hose, but paying little more attention to corners, areas surrounding entrances, parking lots, and other potential obstructions. The wand tip is kept about 10″ above the surface while rinsing, cleaning 10–12″ at a time. The loose dirt and debris are the only things that a rinse removes, and sometimes it also leaves faint ‘wand marks’ or lines that will disappear after cleaning.
The second level of the parking garage is moderately clean.
With oil stains, this often entails some spot cleaning with degreaser and applying additional pressure to the surface. The wand tip is held around 4″ from the surface and cleans 5–6″ at a time while doing a medium clean. The difference is greater pressure being applied to the surface, which results in a better clean. The ‘wand markings’ will be more noticeable for a longer time with a medium clean, however.
Deep cleaning is done on the third level of parking garage maintenance.
Degreaser pre-treatment of oil stains and thorough surface cleaning are included in this. The wand tip is only held 2-3″ from the surface and only cleans about 2-3″ at a time for thorough cleaning.
Depending on how dirty the surface was previously, the difference between a rinse and a thorough clean might be rather noticeable. You also don’t have to worry about us giving you any difficulties, such clogged drains.
Often we find that the cleaning company who cleaned the garage before us plugged the drains. Green Cleaning Services have worked on many parking garages and have never had a drain blockage.
